The Biohood100 was developed in response to the published failures of conventional protection such as the FP1-2-3 & N95 -98 mask and respirators.
These failures were identified by the CDC Centre of Disease control) from the reported exposure and infection rates of HCW hospital care workers involved with the SARS epidemic, affecting Canada, Taiwan, and Hong Kong in 2003. Their conclusions revolve around the the fact that HCW wearing conventional PPE (masks and respirators) were infected at the same rate as those with no protection at all.
The Downloads section provides various papers from Internationally recognised sources which establish the fact that conventional masks, are unable to protect against infectiouse disease, the Biohood-100 overcomes these faults.

This photo shows commuters being evacuated through a tunnel where an explosion has taken place, toxic dust is expected and although the Biohood has no chemical or smoke protection it would provide defence against dust and emergency protection against asbestos which must be assumed to be present in these circumstances.
